A glimpse, an encounter, a show of light and color and contemporary forms weaved into mystic legacy that remains in each of these works…
All of
the artists represented in this exhibition have a deeply rooted connection to
their ancestral past and its pre-Columbian symbolic forms, which dialogues with
a contemporary aesthetic.
Each piece contains figurative elements emerging from an abstract field.
From Quispejo’s nonfigurative dreamscapes, to Kasisol’s geometric abstractions,
to Moran’s emblematic Senor de Sipan motifs, one can find a common thread of
contemporary translations of ancient forms that remain very much alive today,
creating the modern legacy.
